[RECIPE] Curry Fried Rice
This delightful rice dish is made by cooking carrot mixed rice, then combining stir-fried meat and vegetables in curry flavor. Making carrot rice brings some sweetness to the dish, which blends well with the spicy kick of the curry powder.
Recipe:
Serving: 4-5
Time: 50 minutes
Ingredients:
-
2 cups Rice
-
400 ml Water
-
1 pc small Carrot
-
1 tbsp Butter
-
Salt
-
½ lb Chicken thigh
-
¼ pc Onion
-
4-5 pcs Mushroom
-
1 & ½ tbsp Curry powder
-
3 tbsp Sake
-
1 tbsp Soy sauce
-
Cooking oil
-
Black pepper
Instructions:
-
Prepare the ingredients by chopping carrot into small pieces, cutting the chicken into small bite sizes, slicing onion and mushrooms.
-
Heat a pan, add butter and carrot, then stir-fry. Add some salt to taste.
-
Add the uncooked rice into the pan, stir quickly. Then transfer it to a pot, or rice cooker. Add water and cook the rice as you would do for white rice.
-
While the rice is cooking, start stir-frying the chicken with some olive oil.
-
Once it’s halfway cooked, add onion and mushroom and cook through.
-
Add curry powder to mix, then add Sake and soy sauce.
-
Once the liquid is evaporated, add the cooked carrot rice into the pan and stir fry.
-
Finish it with black pepper.
