[RECIPE] Tuna Corn Rice

Tuna and corn are a classic combination in rice dishes, offering a balance of savory and sweet flavors. This easy-to-make Tuna Corn Rice recipe uses brown rice for added nutrition but works well with white rice as a substitute. It's a family-friendly dish that can be prepared with minimal effort, making it perfect for busy weeknights.

Recipe:

Serving: 3-4

Time: 60 minutes (plus 3-4 hours to soak rice)

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Brown rice (Rice Options)

  • 400 ml Water

  • ¼ pc Onion

  • 1 pc Small Carrot

  • ½ can Corn

  • 1 can Tuna

  • 1 pack Vegetable Dashi

  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the brown rice, then soak it in water for 3-4 hours.

  2. Finely chop the onion and dice the carrot.

  3. Transfer the drained brown rice to a rice cooker or a pot. Add water, vegetable dashi powder (open the packet), and soy sauce, stirring to combine.

  4. Place the chopped onion, carrot, corn, and drained tuna on top of the rice mixture. Do not stir, let the ingredients cook as they are.

  5. Cook the rice:

  6. If using a pot, bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat for 10-15 minutes. Once boiling, reduce to low heat and cook for another 20 minutes. Remove from the heat and allow the rice to steam for 10 minutes without opening the lid.

  7. If using a rice cooker, follow the brown rice cooking instructions

  8. Once the rice is done, fluff it with a rice scoop. Serve hot and enjoy with a side of vegetable soup.
