
[RECIPE] Teriyaki Chicken Don

Ingredients:

2 cups Cooked rice (Rice Options)

½ lb Chicken thigh

2 pcs Scallion

Cooking oil

Salt
Teriyaki Sauce

2 tbsp Sake

2 tbsp Mirin
-
1 & ½ tbsp Soy sauce

1/2 tbsp Sugar

Boiled Eggs
Instructions:

Prepare freshly steamed rice.

Cook boiled eggs – add eggs in boiled water, cook for 8 minutes for soft-boiled eggs.

Slice the scallions for garnish.

Cut chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces and lightly season with salt.

In a hot frying pan, heat a little cooking oil. Sear the chicken pieces for about 2 minutes on the skin side, flip the meat, then cover with a lid and cook for another 3 - 4 minutes.

Add scallions, sake, mirin, soy sauce, and sugar into the pan, letting the chicken simmer until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken.

Add rice to a serving bowl, add some teriyaki sauce on the rice, top with the teriyaki chicken, a drizzle of mayonnaise, and a soft-boiled egg for a delicious finishing touch.
